Dichroic coatings have two colors in their name (for example, Magenta/Green).
The first color is the transmitted color, and the second color is the reflected color.
The transmitted color is seen when the dichroic coating is viewed straight on.
The reflected color is seen when the dichroic coating is held at approximately a 45-degree angle.
Reflected color indicates the direction the color will change (or "shift") after firing.
The color DicroSlide™ appears after firing can be influenced by how long and/or how hot the glass is fired.
For example, I've had the Cyan/Copper DicroSlide shift to green (rather than yellow/gold) when fired slow and long.
